Israeli airline ARKIA will be replacing Primera as the launch operator of Airbus A321LR. Airbus confirmed that Primera Air which filled bankruptcy on 2 October, will no longer be a launch customer of A321LR.
Arkia was founded in 1949 as Israel Inland Airlines, was awarded a scheduled operator’s licence for flights to Dublin, and Larnaca, a destination dropped by EL AL. Currently Arkia operates a fleet of 7 aircraft to 25 destinations.
The airbus says it has secured around 120 orders for the variant, a long-range version of the A321neo, from about 12 operators.
