Investigating bodies of the East-Siberian Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case into the flight accident with Yakutia Airlines Sukhoi Superjet 100
According to the investigation, on October 10, 2018 at 3:20 local time Yakutia Airlines flight 414, with 91 passengers and 5 crew members, flying from Ulan-Ude, skid off a runway at the Yakutia airport.
The aircraft touchdown on runway 23L (LDA-2248 meters), but failed to stop and overran onto the area that was under reconstruction,
Both main landing-gear assemblies collapsed, forward fuselage, wing flaps as well as the underside of its engines were damaged from the runway contact, and fuel tank started leaking.
However, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft states that, the incident shows no evidence of technical serviceability of the aircraft, and the it was caused by external factors., but willing to support the investigators.
