A single-engine Cirrus SR22 flying from Addison Airport to Waco with one passenger, declared emergency due to engine problem, including the smell of burning and intermittent losses of power.
The pilot initially considered landing the on Alpha Road, Texas, but decided to use the aircraft’s parachute as the area was surrounded by trees and powerlines made it too difficult to land.
The plane safely landed in a nearby business parking lot with the help of parachute. .
No injuries were reported.
