Qantas’s newest Boeing 787-9 VH-ZNG has just touched down in Australia. The airplane left Everett for Melbourne on 13 November as flight QF6026.
The aircraft is given a special name ‘jillaroo’, so wherever it flies it’ll carry the spirit of the Australian outback with it.
Qantas placed an order for eight 787-9s in 2015, and added six more in May 2018, bringing the total kankaroo-tailed Dreamliner to 14 aircraft by 2020.
The additional $2billion order was to replace its 747s with the 787s by 2020 – just in time for the airline’s 100th anniversary in 2020.
