Boeing will be powering up the first #777X flight test airplane on 6 December 2018 at 10.a.m.PST. Boeing will be live to show more behind-the-scenes action as the first airplanes come together in the factory.
According to Boeing 777X program is well on track and a week ago it assembled the first flight test airplane. 777x’s famous folding wing tips gained the FAA approval back in May 2018, completed the ground test model in September, and on November 20, 2018 it joined the final body, connecting the nose, mid and aft sections.
The aircraft will be powered by world’s largest new 100,000lb-thrust General Electric GE9X turbofan engines, having a front fan of 134 inches in diameter.
The 777x is scheduled to be lunched in 2020, with Lufthansa for the -9x versions and Qatar for the -8x.
