Boeing’s 737 Completion and Delivery Center in Zhoushan, China is set to deliver its first plane, a 737MAX.
This is the first time that Boeing has extended the 737 production facilities overseas. Also it will be the first time Boeing delivers an aircraft at an overseas site.
The newly-completed 737 airplane will be delivered to Air China.
At the plant, Boeing 737 aircraft will receive interior installation, painting, maintenance and delivery.
Boeing and its Chinese partner ‘COMAC’ will jointly run the completion center, with the 737 delivery center being solely owned by Boeing.
Boeing said to gradually ramp-up, annual capacity to reach 100 aircraft.
