Lagos-based ‘Green Africa Airways’ committed for up to 100 737 MAX 8 aircraft, evenly split into 50 firm aircraft and 50 options valued at list-price of $11.7 billion.
The deal was the largest aircraft agreement from Africa, and will be reflected on Boeing’s Orders and Deliveries website once finalized.
Green Africa Airways, a start-up value airline based in Lagos, Nigeria believe that their operations will contribute to the economic development of Nigeria specially after the collapse of Nigeria air.
The carrier received an air traffic license from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority in early 2016, and secured an Air Service License in May-2018 and aims to obtain an AOC soon.
