A farmer has constructed an Airbus A320 replica to fulfil his childhood dream of flying an airplane
A farmer and aircraft enthusiast Zhu Yue from China, spend two years and $391,000 to construct the replica on a short piece of tarmac surrounded by wheat fields in northeast China.
The toy model of an Airbus 320 is shrunken to one-eightieth its original size, but features all the main structural members including longerons, bulkhead, stringers and turbine engines that spin.
Compared to real A320s, which cost over $90 million a unit, Zhu’s A320 cost only $400k.
Now he plans to turn it into a business venture, establishing a restaurant, wedding photography service and a flight simulator attraction.
