A revenue passenger mile (RPM) is the industry yardstick to measure the paying passenger traffic. It is calculated by multiplying the number of paying passengers by the distance traveled.
American Airlines, which has yet to release its traffic for all of 2018, is expected to retain its title as the world’s largest carrier.
