Boeing shareholders rewarded their employees and executives in bonuses totalling nearly $886 million for the record profit of $10.5 billion, in a record revenue of $101 billion, company made.
The Boeing’s Chairman and CEO Dennis Muilenburg was rewarded many fold times in compensation of the average Boeing employee bonus of $7,200. According to a Securities and Exchange Commission regulatory filing, Muilenburg received $23.4 million in total compensation, up from $18.5 million a year earlier.
Muilenburg own Boeing stock worth $54 million at today’s price, and actually pocketed $30 million, up from $24 million a year ago.
The payout comes when the company is facing scrutiny for two MAX8 crashes that killed a combined 346 people.
The Boeing share-price plunged 11% after the issue and will directly affects the net worth of Boeing’s executives.
Muilenburg’s net worth has dropped $6 million in five days as he currently owns 143,190 Boeing shares.
