Etihad’s first Airbus A350-1000 emerge from final assembly line in Toulouse, France.
The airline has committed to take delivery of just five A350-1000s out of 20 in order.
Abu Dhabi-owned carrier initially in 2013, placed orders for 40 A350-900s and 22 A350-1000s. But after its financial crisis ($3billion in losses), Etihad deferred (cancelled) all 40 A250-900s and 2 A350-1000.
Then later it told in a statement, that it would take delivery of only 5 A350-1000s in coming years, means it might cancel the rest too.
Initial orders in 2013 – 26 A321neos, 40 A350-900s and 22 A350-1000s, 8 Boeing 777-8s and 17 777-9s.
