“The FBI has joined the criminal investigation into the certification of the Boeing 737 MAX” sources told Seattle Times.
The federal grand jury investigation, based in Washington, D.C., is looking into the certification process that approved the safety of the new Boeing plane, two of which have crashed since October.
Seattle times last week reported that how FAA managers pushed its engineers to delegate more of the certification process to Boeing itself. and also detailed flaws in an original safety analysis that Boeing delivered to the FAA.
Flowing the report, Canada, and EU said that they will re-examine FAA certification on MAX aircraft, and the US department of transportation ordered for an Audit on FAA certification process.
In the mean time airlines are demanding compensations from Boeing for grounding the MAX fleet, which will run into billions. Boeing stocks have plunged over 12 percent in 10 days, but wall street argues “Boeing is too big to fail.”
