Nosegear on the Asiana Airlines Airbus A320 tilted 90 degrees sideways on approach to Gwangju International Airport in South Korea on 9 April 2019.
The flight OZ8703 with 111 passengers, from Seoul landed on runway 04R, and its nosegear and tires was damaged.
Asiana Airlines said that the accident was due to “tire being hooked by the military landing device.” The airport has two runways, which are used by both Military and Civilian aircraft.
The aircraft got stuck on the runway forcing flights to cancel as they were unable to takeoff or land because other runway was closed for repairs.
More than 29 flights were affected.
No reported injuries.
