American Airlines A321 plane’s left outer wing leading edge hit a sign adjacent to the runway during takeoff at New York JFK airport at around 8:30 p.m.
The flight #AA300 with 101 passengers and eight crew members to Los Angeles took off despite the damage, and at FL300, crew requested to return to JFK citing they had a “strong roll to the left” on departure.
Aircraft landed safely and no injures were reported.
I was on the flight. Everyone safe, but could have been very bad. pic.twitter.com/UXaSAswk04
