British Airways will scrap daytime flights between Johannesburg and Heathrow to take advantage of near collapsing Jet Airways…
The U.K carrier will cancel all four daytime flights from South African City and increase flights to Mumbai, India from London Heathrow.
BA will still maintain the current two overnight flights from Johannesburg, and scrap the daytime flights from June 1, 2019.
Indian carrier Jet Airways flew twice a day flights from Heathrow to Mumbai and daily to Delhi, and suspended all flight operations after investors refused to inject cash.
British Airways says it will increase Heathrow-Mumbai service from 14 to 18 flights a week on its Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
However, Jet Airways still determined to start again even though all their aircraft have been repossessed by lessors and many staff have moved to other airlines.
According to Jet Airway’s chief executive, Vinay Dube, the carrier needs at least $142 million to get back on to the business.
