Virgin Airlines has deferred the delivery of its 737 MAX to Feb 2021, citing safety concerns.
“Safety is Virgin Australia’s number one priority. (and) will not introduce any new aircraft to the fleet unless we are completely satisfied with its safety.”
Virgin’s first Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft was due November 2019, but now won’t take place until 2021.
Virgin had 38 B737 MAX on order and now changed the order from the previous thirty-eight B737-8s and ten B737-10s to twenty-three -8s and twenty-five -10s, and added 10 more MAX 10s
The delivery of the first MAX 8 will be on February 2021 while the first MAX 10 have now been brought forward from January 2022 to July 2021.
