Myanmar Airlines Embraer E190 made a forced landing with the nose landing gear retracted at Mandalay International Airport, Myanmar on Sunday (12/05/2019) morning,
The Embraer 190 XYAGQ, flight #UB103 from Yangon with 89 passengers and 7 crew onboard performed two low passes to allow the control tower to check the position of the nose landing gear, which was fully retracted.
After burning fuel aircraft made a forced landing without any injuries.
“The Captain made RNAV approach RW17 to MDL, but when the landing gear was activated by EICAS message, it turned out the nose landing gear was malfunctioning and couldn’t be activated. The Captain then activated the emergency landing gear down procedure, but it was still not working. He did two flight paths in front of ATC to check whether the nose landing gear was down or not. Then the Captain followed emergency procedures and did the fuel burn out to reduce the landing weight.” said the airline on a statement.
