Emirates said to retire A380s by mid 2030.
According to Tim Clark, Emirates Airlines President, the airline will continue to fly A380s till mid 2030. He told Air Transport World, “We will continue to invest in them (A380) and fly them into the mid-2030,”
Emirates is the largest operator of A380 with 110 jets currently in service, and will take delivery of 14 new A380s on order in couple of years.
Clark also said “ultra-long-haul routes from Dubai that cannot be justified with the 777X or A380. There are a lot more cities that we can do in the US, India and Africa with a 250-seater,”
He confirmed the order commitment of 40 Boeing 787-10s, 40 A330-900s and 30 A350-900s, with deliveries scheduled to begin from 2021.
