State Aviation Administration of Ukraine (SAAU) has suspended YanAir’s Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) over safety issues.
The airline was forced to ground all its 9 aircraft as of 00:00L, Friday, June 7.
State Aviation Administration of Ukraine (SAAU) said the decision to suspend YanAir’s AOC was taken after a “comprehensive” audit of the airline, “it revealed a number of remarks (some of which are critical) in the organization of the airline’s activities, which can affect flight safety.”
“In accordance with established procedures, the airline’s AOC may be restored once it has eliminated the deficiencies and on the basis of the conclusions laid out in an ensuing inspection report which proves the air carrier’s ability to provide an adequate level of safety,” it said.
YanAir was founded in 2012, and has been operating a fleet of 6 jets including an A321, and five Boeing 737s
