United Airlines on Tuesday reported a record increase in second-quarter profit, even after grounding 737 MAX jets.
United reputed 54% increase in net income to $1.05 billion, in the quarter ended June 30,2019, from $683 million a year earlier. Total operating revenue rose 5.8% to $11.40 billion in the quarter.
Airline said that the expected growth for the year 2019 will be slower than in 2018, due to MAX grounding and closed Pakistan Airspace.
United has cancelled flights scheduled on its 14 MAX aircraft until early November, and serving MAX routes with larger aircraft.
