British Airways and Lufthansa announced Saturday that they were temporarily suspending flights to the Egyptian capital of Cairo over security concerns.
The British Airways said it was canceling flights to the Egyptian capital for seven days “as a precaution to allow for further assessment.”
Lufthansa said that it will resume flights from Sunday.
The British Foreign Office said an estimated 415,000 British nationals visited Egypt in 2018, and warned citizens traveling to Egypt of a “heightened risk of terrorism against aviation.”
The flights were cancelled after Iran seized two oil tankers in the Gulf on Friday
