A Libyan military plane made an emergency landing on a road in the neighbouring southern Tunisian town of Beni Khadash on Monday.
According to Radio Mosaique FM, there were two pilots aboard the aircraft, and informed the authorities that they were forced to make the landing due to damage to the plane.
Tunisian “airforce prepared to intercept the L-39 warplane but it landed before it could be reached”, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
Forces allied to the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) denied the warplane was one of theirs.
Local media reported the aircraft belongs to Haftar’s Air Force and was supposed to carryout airstrikes on GNA forces.
