All flights have been cancelled at Tokyo Haneda Airport as powerful Typhoon Faxai approaches eastern Japan.
The landfall near Tokyo, packing winds of up to 134 mph with heavy rain blast through the airport.
Nearly 290,000 households lost power in the region, while at least 10 houses were damaged in Shizuoka with windows shattered and cars flipped onto their sides, according to local media.
Japan Airlines began cancelling flights from late Sunday evening.
