Boeing has suspended load testing of its 777X aircraft after the cargo door blew off during the test last Tuesday
The door blew off when the 777X static test aircraft underwent final testing before flight tests.
Test team, had the plane pressurized on the ground to its maximum capacity and its were “bent in an extreme manner..” so that the plane could withstand any stress level it may encounter in the real world.
Boeing said, “The testing conditions were well beyond any load expected in commercial service.” and the test team “followed all safety protocols”
The new issue will further delay the first flight as it pushed back the 777-9’s first flight to Jan 2020 due to issues with GEnx engines.
