Drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s Abqaiq plant and its Khurais oilfield, tore through the facilities, on Saturday.
The attack interrupted an estimated 5.7 million barrels of the kingdom’s crude oil production per day, equivalent to more than 5 per cent of the world’s daily supply.
The attack rocked the oil market and the crude prices rocketed more than 19 per cent since the attack.
Images from the European Commission’s Sentinel-2 satellite showed black char marks at the heart of the Abqaiq plant on Sunday,
Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who took control of Yemen’s capital of San’a in 2014 took credit for the attack., and said “The only option for the Saudi government is to stop attacking us,”
The attack was believed to be involving 10 drones flying over a distance 800 kilometres from Yemen into Saudi territory.
