A Peninsula Airways SAAB 2000 plane crashed near the airport on the Bering Sea.
The flight from Anchorage (ANC) to Unalaska (DUT) Dutch Harbor landed crashed about 500 feet (152 meters) beyond the airport around 5.pm on 17 October 2019.
The plane was carrying members of a high school swimming team from Cordova and their guardians.
At least four people were injured, were transported in an ambulance, but others left with the assistance of residents, including families who planned to host the visiting swimmers.
“At present, all students and chaperones are accounted for and are OK, albeit a bit shaken up,” said the statement by Cordova Superintendent Alex Russin.
