An Air Guilin captain has been suspended for life from flying after he was found guilty of inviting a young woman into the flight deck during a flight
The incident took place on on January 4. flight GT1011 from Guilin, in South China, but the airline took action after, photo was widely shared this week on social media.
The photo shows a woman wearing civilian clothes, sitting in the cockpit making a V-shaped sign and cups of drinks on her knee tray.
“The captain violated regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) by allowing an unauthorized person into the cockpit”, said the airline in a statement.
On March 23, 1994, a relief pilot of Russia’s Aeroflot Flight 593 brought his 12-year-old daughter and 16-year-son into the cockpit while on duty. The plane crashed into a mountain range in Russia, killing all 75 passengers and crew members on board.
