Kenyan regional carrier, Silverstone Air has suspended all its operations a few hours after their fleet was suspended over safety concern.
The Kenyan civil aviation authority ordered the airline to suspend Dash 8 services for seven days, effective 12 November., but the airline suspended all operations few hours after the order.
“In compliance with the CAA Kenya, directive to suspend operations on our Dash 8 fleet, we have temporarily suspended all our scheduled services, the safety of our passengers, crew and aircraft remain our highest priority.” said the airline in a statement.
KACC conducted a series of adhoc compliance audits on the operations of Silverstone Air Services between 24 Oct and 11 Oct, aftermath of runway excursion of Fokker 50, and loss a of wheel from a Dash 8-300.
Silverstone Air was founded in 2017, and operated a fleet of 11 aircraft.
