Hong Kong Airlines had delayed salaries and says its business has been “severely affected” by social unrest in the city.
Only cabin crew and overseas employees will receive their November wages on time, while all other Hong Kong-based workers will be paid on December 6, the airline said in a statement on Friday.
Hong Kong city’s third biggest airline had been in deep financial trouble for a long period of time, and the social unrest affected it further.
Airline also cut many long haul routes and says “weak travel demand continues to affect the business and revenue. To mitigate impact from the current situation, Hong Kong Airlines will further adjust its network…”
Airline said on Friday that its in-flight entertainment system will be “out of service” starting December 1, until further notice.
