A Jetstar Airbus A320 veered off runway and ended up stuck on soft ground while rolling for takeoff at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The aircraft with 140 passengers bound for Tokyo, Japan, experienced runway excursion while making a 180-degree turn for departure at 2:35 am on Saturday morning.
Runway was closed for brief period and the flights were diverted to Clark International Airport in Pampanga during the incident.
The affected aircraft is now at the Lufthansa Technik Aircraft Maintenance Center
The affected flights earlier — Cebu Pacific’s 5J580 Cebu, Cebu Pacific flight 5J269 from Xiamen, and Air Asia flight Z2 889 from Seoul, which were all diverted to Clark International Airport in Pampanga — are now in Manila.
