UK, Exeter-based airline Flybe is reportedly seeking urgent rescue deal and held survival talks tonight to stave off collapse
The loss making airline was due to rebrand as Virgin Connect this year, is now has put administrators on standby.
Flybe, Europe’s biggest regional airline, that over half of Britain’s domestic flights outside London, announced it would “potentially” be making redundancies at its Devon headquarters.
The airline has been trying to secure additional financing amid mounting losses, and looking to secure emergency financial aid from the government as 2000 jobs are at risk if the company collapses.
The company has kept EY, the accountancy firm, on standby to handle an administration of Flybe Group.
“Flybe continues to focus on providing great service and connectivity for our customers, to ensure that they can continue to travel as planned. We don’t comment on rumour or speculation.” Said the airline few minutes ago.
