Norway will temporarily shutdown all airports and seaports from Monday(16 March) 0800 CET in an attempt to curb the spread of coronavirus.
“We’ve decided to shut our airports, close our ports and implement extensive controls along our border,” Prime Minister Erna Solberg said on Saturday.
Avinor, which operates main airports has announced the closure of nine domestic airports across Norway.
Planes carrying Norwegian citizens will still be allowed to land in Norway. Government is working with Norwegian Air and SAS to fly in medical equipment from China.
The country also closed boarders with its neighbouring countries, as it recorded three deaths linked to coronavirus on Saturday, and 1,052 positive tests for COVID-19 disease.
