Amazon.com bought 11 Boeing 767-300 aircraft to boost its delivery capabilities as to cater a surge in online orders.
Amazon purchased seven 767-300 from Delta Air Lines and four from WestJet Airlines.
The aircraft will be joining Amazon’s air cargo network by 2022.
In June last year, Amazon leased 15 Boeing 737s from GE Capital Aviation Services to boost one-day shipping to customers.
The company currently operates its fleet under the name “Prime Air” comprising a fleet of 73 aircraft of which 60 are in service.
