NordStar Boeing 737 MAX 8 Reg.VQ-BXX was on a ferry flight on January 3, 2020 from Everett to Renton.
NordStar Airlines, the 100 per cent subsidiary of the Russian mining and smelting corporation MMC Norilsk Nickel, signed a lease agreement for 3 Boeing 737MAX8 with the US Aviation Capital Group, back in 2018.
The acquisitions are part of a fleet renewal plan and are intended as replacements for three Boeing 737-800s built in 1998 and 1999.
The Krasnoyarsk-based carrier, which is planning to phase out old 737s and operate 15 aircraft with five 46-seat ATR 42-500 regional turboprops, a single 148-seat Boeing 737-300, six 172-seat B737-800s and the three new B737MAX-8s.
