Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500 with 59 people onboard lost contact shortly after taking off from Jakarta, Indonesia.
The 26 year old aircraft, reg (PK-CLC) on flight #SJ182 to Pontianak disappeared from Radar just about 4 minutes after take-off when it plunged “10,000ft” into the ocean.
The flight vanished at 2.40pm local time, moments after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta airport.
59 people including 4 flight attendants, 2 pilots, 7 children and 3 infants were onboard the flight that reported have crashed on Java Sea above Banten Province.
Search and Rescue team have found some debris in Jakarta bay believed to be from the crashed aircraft.
